Since its beginnings in 1986, the Maison de la Science benefits from a partnership with the Laboratory of Mineralogy and Crystallochemistry of the University of Liège and houses, as such, more than 200 minerals.

The whole collection is exhibited in a renovated space that is entirely dedicated to it. With this space, the Maison de la Science wishes to offer a mediation at several levels: classification, origins, description and use.

The exhibited pieces are among the most beautiful and representative of this collection and allow the Laboratory of Mineralogy and Crystallochemistry to reach the general public and to illustrate the research carried out within the University of Liège. Moreover, the minerals exhibited allow the Maison de la Science to illustrate the application in nature of many scientific concepts.

You can also visit the Laboratory of Mineralogy and Crystallochemistry at the Sart Tilman in addition to your visit to the Maison de la Science !
