Taking part in the scientific workshops at the Maison de la Science means learning the scientific method by practising
Through a number of themes relating to different core skills, pupils are the driving force of their learning. In a playful atmosphere, the workshops bring the pleasure of learning and the joy of discovery. The workshops last 90 minutes and offer a path of discovery in small groups. We hope to encourage the sharing of ideas and observations through regular pooling during the session.
Discover green and renewable energy. Will you choose the wind turbine, the hydroelectric dam or the solar car?
Put yourself in Sherlock Holmes’ shoes. Will you be able to analyse the clues and identify the culprit?
Follow the journey of a drop of water from the river to your tap, through the water treatment plant and the water tower.
Explore the world of light and colour. Will you be able to unlock the secrets of human vision?
Like real chemists, test different everyday products. Is Coke acidic or basic?
Discover the different sugars and which role they play in the human body. Which do you think is sweeter, chocolate or pasta?
Go from a 2D plan to 3D volumes.
Understand in which conditions life appeared on Earth and how it has evolved to the present day.
Try to establish a timeline and identify the characteristics of our species.
Workshop-debate during which each group of pupils is assigned a theory of evolution to defend.
In addition to a visit to the Galerie de la Botanique along with a video and a booklet, come and carry out experiments on plant nutrition!
